Video Presentation

Ukraine

Join us in viewing John Hunter’s presentation of missionary efforts in Ukraine. Situated on the Russian border, Ukraine gained its independence in 1991 following the breakup of the Soviet Union. After Russia, the Ukrainian republic was far and away the most important economic component of the former Soviet Union, producing about four times the output of the next-ranking republic. Rich in natural resources, it was once called the "Breadbasket of Europe," because of its fertile soil and beneficial climate conditions. Sadly, the tragic 1986 Chernobyl nuclear accident (just north of the capitol, Kiev) still lingers, and dangerous land contamination and radioactivity concerns are viable problems. However, this area is covered with a spiritual darkness with the major religions being Ukrainian Orthodox and Ukrainian Greek Catholic. This nation of over 47 million people needs to hear the good news of Jesus Christ.

Lunch served Saturday and Sunday, a nursery will be provided each day.
